The Moon Whispered

from Pictures of the Highway by Marc Black

/

about

A song I wrote for my Dad when he was on his death bed. I loved him dearly. He was a tender, sweet soul.

lyrics

The moon whispered in my ear
how blinding the sun can be'.
rest your weary eyes and see
the other side of you and me

our moon does not talk loud
but far above the crowd
of stars who disappear
every time the moon comes near

CHORUS
singing
look for the glimmer of truth
see what makes you cry
the crack in the crumbling wall
the silence of the sky
that why we want to live,
and why we want to die at the end
you and i

The moon just whispered in my ear...
'how blinding the sun can be'.
rest your weary eyes on me
turn down the lights you might see

our moon does not talk loud
but far would describe the sound
guitar under a naked sky
played by a man who won't ask why
